HIEROGLYPHICA

The present review aims to inform the customers of a new hieroglyphic editor.

The database includes 4675 signs. The goal of the Program is to achieve a maximum operation effect in comparison with other editor-programs, since the Program design was based on a new concept of text editing.

The program is intended as an implement for searching hieroglyphs in the integrated hieroglyphic catalogue and recording short hieroglyphic inscription or vast hieroglyphic texts in vector mode. The program could be also applied in preparatory work of publications on Egyptology.

The Program Functions:

• Search of a hieroglyph by its code (Sign ID), by name or by transliteration;
• Search results grouping;
• Record a hieroglyphic text by “drop and drag” of objects (hieroglyphs) to the client area of the graphic editor;
• Display of search results as a graphical information with page/line scrolling;
• Save of a hieroglyphic text in XML;
• Import to Microsoft Office
